Why you Need to Make a Reservation at IVY47 now

After training in Michelin-starred restaurants, Chef Clément Pellerin moved on to open the first l’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Paris. Today, we had the pleasure of tasting his scrumptious creations right here in Bangkok at IVY47.

The cuisine is contemporary French, highlighting gourmet ingredients sourced from across the globe with exciting Asian undertones. IVY47’s weekend brunch, however, presents a more traditional French menu. Set in a lush green garden, guests can enjoy freshly baked pâtisserie such as the iconic Paris Brest, éclairs, and their famous mille-feuille, lobster omelet, premium cuts and other French delicacies. We visited the restaurant for dinner, a truly delicious experience. Foodies with a love for fine dining will enjoy tasting each elaborate dish of this extraordinary culinary journey. Here are some of the dishes we love:

Let’s begin with the Japanese Ohmi Beef Tataki, a beautiful piece of A5 Wagyu on crispy charcoal toast with sweet and tangy fermented rice sauce. The Ohmi Beef is tender, fatty, and lightly torched before it is topped with a generous spoon of smoky, deep golden Kristal Caviar from Kaviari. The flavours are rich and complex with crunchy textures, melt-in-your-mouth Ohmi Beef and bursts of ocean brine.

Next, we sampled the Uni Tagliatelli, a pasta dish consisting of homemade nori (seaweed) tagliatelli in rich, buttery sauce made of shrimp consommé and Murasaki Uni, finished with creamy Bafun Uni. Paired with a sakura shrimp nori cracker with a dash of ponzu for citrusy tones, this heavenly plate of umami goodness is our new favourite pasta in Bangkok.

The Lobster Duo, our next dish from the ocean is a light and fresh explosion of flavours. It is a whole lobster, in two ways. First, the tail is blanched and seared, then glazed in rich lobster sauce infused with kaffir lime and fresh lime juice. The claws and knuckles are then cut and served as a zesty lobster tartare with chives, ginger, and lemon, delicately topped with a pattern of sliced avocado. Delicious and also very attractive, a definite must-order for Instagram junkies and foodies alike.

Our chosen main dish, the Pistachio-Crusted Lamb Shoulder is juicy with a pleasant crunch, a tender and meaty cut marinated in an aromatic concoction of olive oil and herbs. It is served with a dehydrated tomato confit, a savoury bell pepper and zucchini ratatouille, and a slightly sweet buttery garlic puree boiled 7 times to remove any bitterness. The dish is finished with a flavourful poultry jus infused with fragrant rosemary, the tastes transporting us to the South of France.

Another traditionally French dish taken to the next level, IVY47’s dessert Pear is a poached French Pear in caramel spiced with star anise and cardamom. The golden-brown fruit is glazed with a lavender-infused syrup of spices and served with a warm, buttery almond financier cake and pink pear ice-cream topped with a slice of sweet pear crisp. The homemade ice-cream has a bit of an alcoholic kick due to the fermentation process, a delightful surprise and perfect introduction to the second part of the IVY47 experience.

IVY47’s bar-lounge gives guests an instant access an infectious, high-energy atmosphere, and great music – the perfect place to begin or continue into the night.
